The Dravanian Forelands Aether Currents
To enable flight in The Dravanian Forelands, you must attune to all Aether Currents in the area. There are a total of 15 currents: 10 found in the field and 5 obtained from completing quests.
Field Aether Currents
These 10 Aether Currents are scattered throughout the zone. Using your Aether Compass (obtained during the Main Scenario Quest "Divine Intervention") will help pinpoint their exact locations. Their approximate coordinates are:
- (X:31.5, Y:23.0, Z:0.9) - West of The Hundred Throes, near the Gnath barricades.
- (X:27.0, Y:37.2, Z:0.4) - Southeast of Anyx Trine, on a rocky ledge.
- (X:12.9, Y:30.9, Z:1.1) - West of the Chocobo Forest, on a cliff edge overlooking The Smoldering Wastes.
- (X:37.4, Y:25.2, Z:0.6) - East of The Hundred Throes, near the path leading to The Iron Feast.
- (X:13.0, Y:13.4, Z:1.6) - In the Mourn area, northwestern part of the map.
- (X:24.2, Y:19.5, Z:0.6) - Near Loth ast Vath and the Chocobo Forest.
- (X:8.6, Y:7.9, Z:1.8) - In The Answering Quarter, far northwest.
- (X:35.2, Y:12.0, Z:0.9) - On the path leading towards The Churning Mists entrance, northeast.
- (X:20.0, Y:33.8, Z:0.5) - South of the Chocobo Forest, near The Smoldering Wastes.
- (X:33.0, Y:32.3, Z:0.6) - South of Anyx Trine, on a ledge near the river.
Quest Aether Currents
An additional 5 Aether Currents are rewarded upon completion of the following quests:
- Mourn in Passing (Main Scenario Quest, Level 52) - NPC: Alphinaud. Starts in The Dravanian Forelands (X:16.5, Y:23.0).
- A Gnathic Deity (Main Scenario Quest, Level 53) - NPC: Alphinaud. Part of the storyline in the Loth ast Vath area.
- The First Flight of the Issom-Har (Main Scenario Quest, Level 53) - NPC: Marcechamp. Located in The Dravanian Forelands (X:31.7, Y:23.9), Chocobo Forest.
- The Wyrm's Lair (Main Scenario Quest, Level 53) - NPC: Alphinaud. Part of the storyline leading to and within Anyx Trine.
- Some Bad News (Sidequest, Level 53) - NPC: Vath Storyteller. Located in The Dravanian Forelands (X:24.0, Y:19.6), Loth ast Vath. Prerequisites: Completion of Main Scenario Quest "The Nonmind" and the Vath Beast Tribe introductory quest "The Naming of Vath".
Once all 15 Aether Currents have been attuned, you will gain the ability to fly using mounts within The Dravanian Forelands.
